GOND PAK BURFI

 


 Prep Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serve : 4


INGREDIENTS
Whole wheat flour  -  1 cup
Sugar    - 1 cup
Water  - 1/2 cup
Clarified butter / ghee -  1 /2 cup
Whole dried milk / mawa   -  1/4 cup
Poppy seeds - 2 tbsp

Cardamom powder  -   1/4 tsp
Gond  -  100 gms
Whole black pepper - 7 - 8
Cashew nuts  - 1 tbsp
Almonds  -  1 tbsp
Raisins      - 1 tbsp

METHOD
Dry roast the poppy seeds and strain it.
Heat clarified butter / ghee in a wok.
Add gond fry and strain it  and divide the gond into two parts , crush one part of the gond and keep half part for garnishing
Also fry cashew nuts,almonds, raisins and whole black pepper and keep aside
Again heat clarified butter / ghee in a pan.
Add whole wheat flour and stir continuously and roast till it turns brown and give out the fragrance.
Add whole dried milk / mawa and mix well.
In another pan add sugar and water till sugar dissolves.
Keep it medium flame for 8 -10 mins.
Add roasted whole wheat flour,fried and crushed gond , roasted poppy seeds ,whole black pepper, all dry fruits and cardamom powder and mix well.
Pour the mixture into grease plate and garnish with roasted cashew nuts,almonds,raisins and fried gond
Once cooled cut into diamond shape.
