INGREDIENTS
Half done rice - 500 gms
Boiled jackfruit / kathal - 200 gms
Clarified butter / ghee - 100 gms
Sliced onion - 2
Cloves - 4 - 5
Green cardamom - 3 - 4
Whole black pepper - 4 - 5
Black cardamom - 1
Mace - 1 piece
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Kesar / saffron - few strands
METHOD
Soak saffron / kesar in a half cup of water.
Heat clarified butter / ghee in a pan.
Add whole garam masala and saute for one mins.
Add sliced onion and fry till light brown.
Add boiled jackfruit pieces and saute for one to two mins.
Add half done rice and salt and mix well.
Add saffron water,garam masala powder and one cup of water and cover it,
Cook for ten mins in a low flame.
Serve hot with raita.
