LAUKI ALOO KI SUBJI

INGREDIENTS

Bottle gourd /lauki    -  250 gms
Potatoes   -    2
Sliced onion   - 1
Whole garam masala  -   1 tsp
Whole red chilly  -   2
Turmeric powder   -  1/2   tsp
Coriander powder  -  1 tsp
Cumin seeds    - 1/2 tsp
Salt      -  to taste
Oil   -  2 tbsp
Chopped garlic cloves   -   1/2 tsp
Chopped ginger  -  1 /2 tsp
Chopped tomato     =  1

METHOD
Wash and peel the bottle gourd /lauki and potatoes.
Cut into large pieces
Heat oil in a pressure cooker .
Add cumin seeds and whole garam masala, whole red chilly to crackle.
Add sliced onion n fry till light brown.
Add ginger, garlic pieces n saute.
Add coriander powder ,turmeric powder and salt and add 2 tbsp water n saute for two mins.
Add chopped tomato and mix well.
Add chopped bottle gourd / lauki and chopped potatoes and saute for one mins.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker.
When cooker release the whistle simmer the gas for five mins.
Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve with rice or chapaties.
