KADALA CURRY

Cooking Time :25 mins
Serve : 2

INGREDIENTS
Black gram      -  1 cup
Finely chopped onion  -  1
Coconut oil  -  3 tbsp
Whole cumin seeds  -  1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder  -   1/2 tsp
Salt  -  to taste
Coriander powder  -  1 tsp
Garam masala powder  -  1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder  -  1 tsp
Ginger - 1 inch stick
Garlic pods - 4- 5
Finely chopped tomato - 1
For tempering
Asafoetida  -  1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - 7 - 8
Black mustard seeds/rai - 1/2 tsp
Whole red chilly - 1

METHOD
Take black gram and 2 cup water and pressure cook.
Take a blender add onion,ginger and garlic and blend to make a paste
Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds to crackle now add onion and ginger garlic paste and saute for 4 - 5 mins.
Add ,garam masala powder,r,coriander powder,red chilly powder,turmeric powder and 2 tbsp water  and mix well
Saute until oil leaves the pan now add boiled black gram along with water and mix well.
Add salt and cook for five mins
For tempering add asafoetida,,black mustard seeds curry leaves and  whole red chilly to crackle.
Add in the cooked black gram
Serve hot.
