INGREDIENTS
Yellow moong dal / lentil - 1 cup
Bread pieces - one and half cup
Bread crumbs - 100 gms
Curd - 1/2 cup
Black mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida / hing - a pinch
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Grated ginger - 1 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Chopped green chilly - 3 - 4
Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tbsp
METHOD
Soak moong dal / lentil for 4 hours.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add black mustard seeds to crackle.
Add green chilly,ginger,asafoetida and moong dal.
Add salt,turmeric powder,red chilly powder and coriander leaves and stir in a low flame.
Add one and half cup of water and cook for 10 mins.
Soak the bread in a curd for 25 mins and mash it,
Mix the mashed bread in the moong dal.
Shape each ball to flat patties of medium thickness.
Coat the patties in a bread crumbs.
Heat oil in a pan.
Shallow fry in hot oil until golden in colors in medium flame.
Serve hot with ketchup.
