Jackfruit /kathal - 500 gms
Chopped onion - one and half k.g
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Whole black pepper - 6 - 7
Chopped ginger - 1 inch stick
Whole red chilly - 6 - 7
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1/2 cup
Curd - 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
Half boil the kathal pieces and marinate with curd,turmeric powder,salt and one tbsp oil for 15 mins.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add whole black pepper,whole red chilly to crackle.
Add one layer of onion on the pan .
Add second layer of jackfruit / kathal and third layer of onion and chopped ginger.
Cover the lid on low flame for 30 mins stir in between.
Add salt and one cup of water and and cover it again for 30 mins.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with chapaties or rice.
