INGREDIENTS
Yellow mustard seeds - 1/2 bowl
Black mustard seeds - 1/2 bowl
Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic - 8 - 10 cloves
Ginger - 1 inch stick
Salt - to taste
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Hing / asafoetida - a pinch
Vinegar - 2 tbsp
Mustard oil - 2 tbsp
METHOD
Dry roast the mustard seeds in a pan.Strain it.
In a blender add roasted mustard seeds,cumin seeds,garlic,ginger and salt and blend to make a paste.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add asafoetida and mustard paste and stir occassionaly in a low flame.
Add red chilly powder,turmeric powder and sugar and mix well
Switch off the gas.
Add vinegar and mix well..
