INGREDIENTS
Ridge gourd / turai - 500 gms
Black gram / kala chana - 50 gms
Chopped onion - 1
Whole red chilly - 1
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tbsp
METHOD
Soak black gram over night and strain it
Peel and chop ridge gourd and wash it.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
Add cumin seeds and whole red chilly to crackle.
Add chopped onion and fry till dark brown.
Add ridge gourd / turai ,black gram and turmeric powder and cover the lid and steam it.
When coooker release the whistle simmer the gas for 10 mins.
Once cooled,open the lid and cook for 5 mins till water dries out.
Add salt and mix well.
Serve with rice or chapties.
