PUNJABI LOBIA MASALA

 


Prep Time  : 10 mins
Cooking Time  : 20 mins
Serves  : 2

INGREDIENTS
Lobia    -        1 cup
Chopped onion    -  1
Ginger garlic paste   -  1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds      -  1/4 tsp
Asafoetida / hing -  a pinch
Turmeric powder  -   1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder   -  1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder   -    1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Salt   -   to taste
Clarified butter  -    2 tbsp

METHOD
Soak lobia over night.
Next day boil in a pressure cooker for 10 mins.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add cumin seeds to crackle.
Add asafoetida,ginger garlic paste and saute for one mins.
Add onion and fry till dark brown.
Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,black pepper powder, coraiander powder and salt and mix well.
Add boiled lobia in it and cook for 5 - 6 mins.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with chapati
