INGREDIENTS
Milk - 5 cup
Sewaiya - 100 gms
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Whole dry dates - 10
Crushed almonds - 2 tbsp
Crushed cashew nuts - 2 tbsp
Crushed pistachios - 2 tbsp
Chironji - 1 tbsp
Raisins - 2 tbsp
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Black cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Small size makhana - 1 cup
Clarified butter - 2 tbsp
METHOD
Heat milk in a heavy bottom vessel.
Soak whole dry dates for 2 - 3 hours and make a paste.
Add paste dates and stir the milk after five minutes change the color of the milk,now add grated coconut and mix well.
Heat clarified butter in other pan.
Add sewaiya and stir fry till golden brown and mix in the milk also add sugar into the milk.
Cook well till it gets thick and also add crushed cashew nuts and almonds.
Heat clarified butter in a pan and fry the makhana and strain it.
The consistency is not so thick nor liquid.
Pour the Luckhnowi sheer into the bowl and garnish with fried makhana,crushed pistachios,chironji,cashew nuts and almonds.
Heat 1/2 tsp clarified butter and add black cardamom powder and pour into the sheer.
Serve hot.
