INGREDIENTS
Yellow urad dal / lentil - 2 cup
Rice flour - 2 tbsp
Crushed black pepper - 1/4 tsp
Chopped green chilly - 2 - 3
Finely chopped ginger - 1 inch stick
Curry leaves - 8 - 10
Asafoetida - a pinch
Chopped coconut - 2 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - for frying
METHOD
Wash and soak yellow urad dal for 3 - 4 hours. and grind to a fine paste.
Add salt,ginger,green chilly,curry leaves,asafoetida,coconut,crushed black pepper and rice flour and mix well.
Heat enough oil in a deep frying pan.
Make equal size balls.
Deep fry in hot oil until golden color.
Always cook in medium flame.
We drop all bonda and coo in medium flame un til done.
Serve with coconut chutney.
Coconut chutney
INGREDIENTS
Fresh coconut - 1 cup
Roasted bengal gram - 2 tbsp
Curry leaves - 8 - 10
Green chilly - 3 - 4
Salt - to taste
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tsp
METHOD
Fry the curry leaves.
Dry roast the bengal gram/chana dal.
In a blender add fresh grated coconut,roasted bengal gram/chana dal,green chilly,salt and 1/2 cup of water and fried curry leaves.
Blend to make a paste.
Heat one tbsp oil.
Add black mustard to crackle and add in the coconut chutney.
