INGREDIENTS
Green moong dal - 1/2 cup
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Water -1/4 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Crushed cashew nuts - 1 tbsp
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Catch cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Catch cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Clarified butter - 1 tbsp
and
METHOD
Wash and soak moong dal over night with two cup of water/
Pressure cook green moong dal with one cup of water,after 4 - 5 whistle turn off the flame/
Once cooled grind coarsely.
Heat a pan with jaggery and water to boil,once boiled add the moong dal and cardamom powder and mix it well,make the powder cinnamon and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon powder
Add milk and cook for five mins and turn off the flame
Heat clarified butter in a pan add cashew nuts,raisins and grated coconut fry it and add into the payasam
Garnish with fried cashew nuts
