MOONG MASALA



Prep Time  : 10 mins
Cooking Time  : 20 mins
Serves  : 2

INGREDIENTS
Whole moong dal    -        1 cup
Chopped onion    -  1
Ginger garlic paste   -  1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds      -  1/4 tsp
Asafoetida / hing -  a pinch
Turmeric powder  -   1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder   -  1/2 tsp
Curry leaves   -   8 - 10
Black pepper powder   -    1/4 tsp
Roasted mango powder / amchur  -    1/4 tsp
Lemon juice    -  1 tsp
Salt   -   to taste
Oil  -    2 tbsp

METHOD
Soak whole moong dal over night.
Next day boil in a pressure cooker for 10 mins.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add cumin seeds to crackle.
Add asafoetida,curry leaves,ginger garlic paste and saute for one mins.
Add onion and fry till dark brown.
Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,black pepper powder,roasted mango powder and salt and mix well.
Add whole moong dal in it and cook for 5 - 6 mins.
Pour lemon juice and mix well.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
